Placing Your Order

Once you have accepted a quote and decided to proceed with the booking, we will send you over an invoice with all the details on to look over. The invoice also includes details for paying the deposit. Paying a deposit is the only way to secure the date and booking in our diary. Unfortunately, making an enquiry about a certain date or receiving a quote does not automatically reserve the date for you as we may be liaising with multiple customers at one time for the same date due to the amount of enquires we receive each day. Therefore we work on a first come, first serve basis.

A deposit of 30% is required for all orders within five working days of receiving your invoice, this secures the date and your order. After that time your date will be opened back up to other customers.

The remaining balance for all orders is due a minimum of 14 days before the delivery date. All deposits are non-refundable. For information on cancellations or postponing your event, please see our terms and conditions page. Late or no payment may result in us cancelling your order and your cake not being delivered. Late payments may also result in additional fee's.

We will always do our best to accommodate any changes within your order but in certain circumstances time frame and availability may not enable us to do so. All final details such as colour schemes and flavours, must be confirmed a minimum of two weeks before delivery.

Unfortunately we don’t offer face to face meetings as we don’t have space to accommodate these at our bakery but if you would like to sample our cake flavours before making a final decision this can be done by ordering one of our postal taster kits. Which can be ordered here.

Any posted items such as our personalised biscuits are couriered via DHL at your own risk and we cannot accept liability for any damage or loss, therefore we do advise you where ever possible to choose our in house delivery service.

As stated on the bottom of all invoices, by paying the deposit, you are agreeing to all our Terms & Conditions which can be found here.

Additional Extras

When it comes to finishes touches, we are able to provide a whole range additional items for your cake such as cake toppers, cake stands and table dressings. However we are also more than happy for you to provide you own and can give you any advice of things to look out for when sourcing these items.

Storing Your Cake

Once your cake has been delivered, it becomes solely your responsibility to ensure the cake is stored correctly and safely. All our fondant iced cakes, must be stored in a cool, dark & dry area, free from humidity. Buttercream and semi-naked cakes should be stored in the fridge on warm, sunny days until the cake is needed. Once cut all our cakes should be wrapped well with cling film to keep them moist. Cupcakes should be stored in the cardboard box they come in or in their box in the fridge on very hot days. We also advise that all our sponge cakes, cupcakes and biscuits should be eaten within three days of delivery. If you have surplus cake, this can be frozen if wrapped very well in layers of cling film and then foil. It will lasts up to three months in the freezer.

Allergies

Unless otherwise specified all our products contain dairy, gluten (wheat) and eggs and are made in an environment that handles nuts, soya and alcohol. Gluten-free and alcohol-free cakes can be made on request but we cannot guarantee that these cakes will not contain trace amounts of these ingredients due to the nature of production.
The Flamingo Bakery accepts no liability for customers suffering allergic reactions from eating our products. It is the customer’s responsibility to make us aware of any special dietary requirements that need to be accommodated in the making of their cake.
